Jamie Carragher believes Roberto Mancini could be the ‘ideal’ choice as the next Everton manager.
The search for Roberto Martinez’s successor is well underway after the Catalan was deposed by the Blues’ majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri.
Ronald Koeman and Frank de Boer have emerged as the leading candidates for the role while Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez has also expressed an interest in the vacancy.
But Liverpool icon Carragher feels that Mancini, who won the Premier League title during a four-year spell in charge of Manchester City, may be the perfect fit.
“And what about Mancini?” he told the Daily Mail.
“He is a big name with a fine pedigree, who has done well with Inter Milan since leaving Manchester City and he would jump at the chance to work in England again.
“He might just be ideal.”
