Andre Gomes is facing up to a three-game ban for a violent conduct charge.
Gomes was hit with disciplinary action by the Football Association on Monday in relation to an incident near the end of Everton’s defeat to Fulham last weekend.
The Portugal international is alleged to have stamped on Aleksandar Mitrovic during stoppage time of the 2-0 reversal for Marco Silva’s side at Craven Cottage.
Referee Lee Probert did not see the incident but a retrospective review of the incident risks seeing the Barcelona loanee miss the bulk of the Blues’ run-in.
If found guilty, the midfielder, 25, will be ruled out for Everton’s next three games, against Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Burnley respectively.
That would mean he would be denied a chance to play again in front of the Goodison Park crowd before his loan spell expires at the end of this season.
Gomes has until 6pm on Tuesday to respond to the FA’s charge.
