Marco Silva has called on Everton to find solutions to their renewed slump.
Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Brighton saw Silva’s side continue an abject run of form with just one win from their previous six Premier League games.
A New Year’s Day encounter with a resurgent Leicester City now awaits the Blues and Silva pointed to the challenges ahead for his under-performing players.
He said: “It is important to be strong again and ready for the next match in three days.
“We don’t have time to prepare in the normal way but that is the schedule and we have to put in our players’ minds how important the next game is.
“We have to change our recent form at home and give a different answer.
“It will be a tough match but we have to give 100 per cent to win it.”
It was a miserable afternoon on the south coast for Everton as they sought to build on Boxing Day’s emphatic 5-1 hammering of Burnley.
“It was frustrating for us. We came into the game from a good away win,” added Silva.
“Even if it wasn’t the best performance or best game for us… we created enough chances to achieve a different result. One deflection gave the chance to (Jurgen) Locadia to score.
“Two minutes after the goal we had a fantastic chance [for Richarlison] which came off the post and then one which came off the bar as well.”
