Everton FC set to receive timely fitness boost ahead of season run-in

Brendan Galloway is set to ease Everton’s defensive injury woes with a timely return to the first team.

Galloway has been sidelined with a knee injury for the past two months, but today completed a full 90 minutes for the Blues’ under-21 side against Chelsea today, and now looks set to feature in the club’s remaining Premier League games this season.

Galloway made his senior Everton debut at the back end of the 2014-15 campaign, and had featured 19 times this season, prior to his injury.

Roberto Martinez’s side face champions-elect Leicester City on Saturday, with Ramiro Funes Mori still suspended while Seamus Coleman, Tyias Browning and Phil Jagielka are all struggling to be fit in time to play.

Galloway and fellow youngster Matthew Pennington could line up at the heart of Everton’s defence for their final three games, against the Foxes, Sunderland and Norwich City.
