Under-fire Roberto Martinez not worried about his Everton FC future

Roberto Martinez insists he is not worried about his Everton future ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United.

Martinez continues to face a raft of criticism ahead of the season-defining Wembley clash, with the Blues still smarting from a 4-0 thrashing by Liverpool in Wednesday’s Merseyside derby.

With his highly-rated squad languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table, speculation over Martinez’s future at Goodison Park has intensified this week.

But the Everton manager has brushed off suggestions that his future is under threat.

He said: “I wouldn’t be professional if I was wasting my time talking about what people think about the manager.

“The turnaround in games has been quick. We have been working very, very hard to be at Wembley and challenge for silverware.”

“As a group we share incredible togetherness,” he added.

“You are not going to get positive reports [when the team is losing matches].

“We need to forget about the league, we have put in strong work for 10 months and want to repair the hurt everyone at the club is feeling, from the fans to the players.”
