Premier League winner slams Roberto Martinez for ‘disaster’ Everton FC season

Chris Sutton has condemned Everton manager Roberto Martinez for presiding over a ‘disaster’ season.

Martinez faces continued pressure from Blues supporters after presiding over a third successive Premier League defeat during last weekend’s reversal at Manchester United.

And Sutton, who won the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers, launched a stinging attack on the Catalan.

“He talks about a game which no one else sees. This is an Everton side that didn’t create any chances [against United],” he told BBC Radio 5 Live

“He comes out [saying] ‘we controlled the tempo’ Is he mad? He’s not watching the same game as everyone else.

“And I think that’s what the frustration is with the fans. I’m not calling Martinez dishonest, I just don’t understand what he sees.”

He added: “He’s not adaptable, they can’t see games through and that is the frustration.

“You know, with the best will in the world, when Everton fans see the players at their disposal and they see West Brom ahead of them in the table – that’s a disaster.”
