A Liverpool city centre bar has had its licence suspended after a triple stabbing.
Three men were knifed outside G-Bar in the early hours of Sunday (September 20) and found in nearby Tithebarn Street with injuries that required hospital assessment.
An altercation is alleged to have taken place between those injured and another group inside the Eberle Street venue before the brutal attack took place outside.
Police have charged three men in connection with the incident which led to their appearance at Wirral Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning (September 23).
Stephen Gee, 22, from Everton stands accused on one count of Section 18 wounding with intent; Violent Disorder, and possession of Class B controlled drugs.
Jonny Gee, 18, also of Everton was charged with two counts of Section 18 wounding with intent; Violent Disorder, and possession of a bladed article.
Patrick Morgan, 31, from Liverpool faces charges on two counts of Section 18 wounding with intent; Violent Disorder and possession of a bladed article.
However Liverpool City Council’s licensing and gambling sub-committee moved to suspend G-Bar’s licence with immediate effect in light of the assault that took place.
Karl Bruder, acting on behalf of premises supervisor Howard Gwynn, said the bar’s owners were making ‘impactful’ changes but claimed they had been ‘let down’ by management.
He also pledged that officials would work with Merseyside Police ahead of a full licence review hearing which is expected to take place next month.
