Two men have been arrested after a fight broke out in a Merseyside gym.
Police were called to the David Lloyd facility on Knowsley Industrial Estate at around 6.10pm on Monday (April 27) following an incident inside the changing area.
Video footage of the incident was widely circulated on social media alongside a clip of one of the suspects being led away by officers from the venue a short while later.
A 46-year-old from Brighton-le-Sands and a 53-year-old from Netherley were both arrested on suspicion of Affray and have been taken into custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Edward Barr said: “This would have been a shocking incident to witness, carried out in full view of members of the public nearby, including children.
“We are gathering all available evidence and want to speak to anyone who saw what happened, or has since received information.
“Two men are in custody and we are working hard to establish the timeline of this incident.
“We are aware of social media video of the incident and I would urge people with information not to comment on such channels, but come into us directly so as not to hinder the investigation.”
