Fan zone opposite new Everton stadium probed

A venue due to open opposite Everton’s new stadium is under investigation.

The Holy Trinity was originally set to launch summer with a marquee holding 1,5000 people adjacent to Hill Dickinson Stadium on land leased by Terry’s Timber.

A licensing application was granted by the city council which would allow the operators to operate from 9am to midnight daily with the sale of alcohol permitted.

But the hospitality development was issued with a stop order after health and safety concerns were raised over the construction of the structure on Regent Road.

Now Liverpool City Council have launched a probe into the venue operated by Mersey View Leisure Limited about operating without planning permission.

The planned venture named after Everton’s Holy Trinity of Colin Harvey, Howard Kendall and Alan Ball is unconnected to the families of the former players.

Mersey View director Gary Hincks has also lodged an application to convert a disused warehouse on Fulton Street in a food and drink space with a 500-person occupancy.
