Three teens arrested in Toxteth knife brawl

Three teenagers were among four people arrested after a knife brawl in Toxteth.

Police were called to the area shortly after 4pm on Saturday to reports of a group of men fighting in the street, where it is believed a knife and machete were used.

Armed response officers attended at the scene, where a 16-year-old, two 18-year-olds and a 47-year-old were all detained on suspicion of affray.

Two of the men, aged 16 and 18 respectively, were taken to hospital where they will be treated for slash wounds sustained during the disturbance.

A temporary Section 60 order was also put in place in the local area to allow police to enforce searches of people in the area for offensive weapons.

The order focused on the areas around Mill Street and Moses Street and extended from Saturday evening into overnight until 4am on Sunday.
