Turtle Bay, the UK’s first Caribbean restaurant chain, has opened a second restaurant in Liverpool city centre.
After the huge success of its first Victoria Street restaurant- opened at the end of 2015- the new Turtle Bay bar and restaurant joins the likes of Busaba Eathai and Wahaca on Hanover Street as part of Liverpool ONE’s wider expansion.
The second venue, which creates a further 50 jobs in the city, officially opened its doors to the general public on Good Friday following a special opening party for local businesses and residents the previous evening.
Over 400 VIPs were in attendance at the event to catch a glimpse of the new bar and restaurant, and were treated to a range of Turtle Bay’s signature dishes and cocktails as well as live music from Troy Ellis His Hail Jamaica Reggae Band and Laid Blak.
A number of local celebrities, including Ray Quinn, Celebrity Big Brother star James Hill and Hollyoaks stars Karl Collins and Jacqueline Boatswain, were also present at the event.
Turtle Bay Founder and MD Ajith Jayawickrema said: “The opening party was phenomenal and really showcased the venue and the food and drink offering. Hanover Street is fast becoming a hub of leisure and entertainment and
it’s great to be right at the heart of the action.”
