Football fans can dine with Bill Shankly as the legendary Liverpool manager is set to be brought back to life through augmented reality.
The Shankly Hotel will launch the interactive experience later today with three of the Anfield godfather’s most trusted former players on hand to help.
Ian Callaghan, Ian St John and Chris Lawler were all influential figures in his 1960s Liverpool side and will sit around a table with their former boss again.
Situated in the hotel’s Baston Bar and Restaurant, the chance to enjoy an unforgettable dining experience with the Scotsman alongside them.
The technology on display at the Victoria Street venue, which displays previously unseen Shankly memorabilia, is the first of its kind in Liverpool.
Guests can browse through the vast memorabilia donated by the Shankly family at their leisure, including trophies, personal items, scouting books and clothing.
Those who select one of the experiences will be seated at a booth and leave a space for the icon to sit and join their party.
They will then watch as the screen facing them duplicates their surroundings and places Bill Shankly at their table.
The augmented reality creation of the Liverpool legend sees him proudly throwing his arms up to pull his famous stance, waving and engaging with diners.
Those taking part in the experience will then be emailed a still image of themselves and their new dining companion as a keepsake of their memorable day out and so that they can share it with all of their family and friends.
