What Colours Liverpool Men Will Be Wearing as Wedding Guests This Summer

Spring is starting to make itself known, and while there is still a chill in the air, for sale once the clocks change it won’t be long ‘til summer is here. For most people in their late twenties and thirties, summer tends to bring with it wedding invitations, and this gives the stylish men and women of Liverpool a great excuse to get dressed up. While there are loads of fashion tips out there for the ladies for this summer’s big events, men don’t tend to get anywhere near as much help in staying on trend when picking out what to wear as wedding guests, so here is a helpful guide to the colours that are going to be big for male wedding attendees this season in Liverpool.

Colours for each fashion season are defined and released by the Pantone colour institute – a global organisation who analyse trends in everything from fashion and interior design to advertising, to establish the palettes that are important. For the summer 2016 season, they have created a ten colour palette called ‘A Transporting and Transformative Canvas’, which once you get past the art school naming is a highly wearable set of colours men can reference for on trend clothing ideas.

Neutrals for Suits

The starting point for any wedding outfit for men is of course a good suit. The perfect shade for your summer wedding suit this year is a colour Pantone call Lilac Grey – a soft grey with bluish undertones that has a cool, sophisticated look. This shade is ideal for weddings because it is formal but has a fashionable edge, so you won’t look like you are heading to a job interview. Another great thing about this colour is that it works very well with other colours from the palette, so you can add a bright accent colour in your accessories, for example a tie, handkerchief or stylish waistcoats that complement either your own taste or the colour scheme of the wedding.

Colours of The Year

When it comes to choosing those accent colours, Pantone’s two colours of the year for 2016 are great choices. Rose quartz, which is a soft pink, is a great option if you’re a man who isn’t afraid to wear pastel pinks – it is a sophisticated shade that stops short of being a girly baby pink and looks fantastic in things like silk – ideal for ties. Serenity, the other colour of the year, is a cool light blue that is equally nice in luxury accessories.

Other Options

If pastels are not for you, you can choose one of the brighter shades from the summer palette, like Fiesta, a red almost worthy of LFC, Buttercup, which is a bold sunshine yellow, Green Flash, a vibrant leaf green, or Snorkel Blue, a dark, rich navy.

Whatever your taste, you can piece together a great wedding outfit using Pantone’s colours, and be sure to be wearing something very 2016 to the weddings you are invited to this summer.
