Review: Polar Adventure at Liverpool One

A brand new Christmas experience has arrived at Liverpool One that will see you transported from Liverpool all the way to the North Pole.

Departing from Chavasse Park for the snowy North Pole, the Christmas Express will transport guests to a special pop-up polar party with music, glittering decorations and lots to do!

The experience starts at the platform where you are greeted by the station master and their helpers. The land train is a festive sight to behold and gives a nod the traditional Christmas activities of year gone by. You are provided with your “ticket” which will allow you to enjoy a whole host of activities when you do arrive in The North Pole.

The land train takes you on a short journey through Chavasse Park and through some of the main festive decorations that line the route. You can take in the spectacle of the beautiful angel wings as well as multicoloured trees that adds to the excitement and ambience of the train journey. You will go through a magical tunnel full of lights that sees you “transported” to the North Pole.

On arrival at the North Pole you are greeted by jolly station master, his wife and his fun team of porters. They make all of the children feel very welcome and help you guide your children through the experience – particularly handy when you have a toddler who is mesmerised by the snow  that adorns the North Pole!

As part of the experience you will get involved in postcard decorating, have a glittery festive makeover, dance with the station porters and be told lovely Christmas stories within the snow huts of the North Pole.

This experience really brings Christmas to life for the little ones! It’s really good as you can get as involved as you want and those who just want to potter around and enjoy a hot chocolate under the snow showers can do so. There are tonnes of opportunities for lovely family photos on the platform and with the snowmen that live in the North Pole so you can really capture those special Christmas memories.

The experience is not like anything I have seen in Liverpool before – it is relaxed, enjoyable and you aren’t forced in and out a certain was as you are with some Grotto’s. It is a refreshing change to the standard grotto but still gives a nod to Christmas traditions.

Polar Express is priced extremely well and gives excellent value for money – always important on the run up to the big day! I loved it, and I expect it to be a huge success with the people of Liverpool!
