Liverpool’s world famous Cavern will celebrate 60 years in style in January.
And the iconic Mathew Street venue plans to mark its diamond anniversary with a number of events to commemorate its past six decades.
The festivities will be starting this month, with an evening of live music at the Cavern with Russell Watson and Smooth Radio on October 25.
Dave Monks will present three up-and-coming bands and Big Country will appear to celebrate 30 years since their ‘The Seer’ album, on October 26 and 27 respectively before Haircut 100 front man Nick Heyward will be playing on Novermber 10.
A special show will be taking place at the Philharmonic Hall on January 16 and 17, which will take the audience on a musical journey through the ages.
The show will document how Merseyside’s iconic venue has stood the test of time and has been at the forefront of musical movements throughout its life.
Further ahead in 2017, Cavern City Tours have confirmed that International Beatleweek, Liverpool’s annual Beatles festival, will return between August 23 and 29.
