A former British No.1 will appear at this year’s Liverpool International Tennis Tournament.
Dan Evans joins fan favourite Marcus Willis as part of the line-up for this year’s tournament held at the Liverpool Cricket & Sports Club across three days.
The Davis Cup Winner and Olympian is known for his sliced backhand, shot-making, and grass-court skills, making him an ideal fit for this year’s tournament.
Tournament director Anders Borg said: “Dan is a player tennis fans love to watch because he plays the game differently from most players on the tour.
“His style suits grass perfectly, and I know our crowds will really enjoy seeing him in Liverpool this summer.”
Willis, meanwhile, will head back to the tournament a decade since facing Roger Federer on Wimbledon’s Centre Court after a remarkable pre-qualifying run.
Working as a tennis coach at the time, his journey captured the imagination of fans everywhere and turned him into one of the sport’s modern cult heroes.
Organisers of this year’s tournament are also hosting free mini-tennis sessions in Liverpool city centre from May 23 that includes a kids-only day on June 17.
