Art in Crisis, a series of public events organised by national homelessness charity Crisis, will open a window onto artists who have experienced homelessness at work in their studios across the UK from 15-31 July.
As part of the national programme, Crisis Skylight Merseyside will present compelling, original projects from its clients, whose work has been developed with FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology), Walker Art Gallery, TATE Liverpool and RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects).
Highlights include The Alternative Tour of Liverpool, a personal insight into this city we know and love created by Crisis clients. Working with RIBA and FACT they have intertwined history, anecdote and storytelling and a few surprises along the way. After the tour, you can experience original performances developed as a part of Stories of the City, an afternoon of creative workshops within FACT in collaboration with artist and animator Anne Wilkins. Crisis clients will also be giving a personal insight into one of Britain’s modern masters as they take you on a unique Tour of the Francis Bacon exhibition.
Together the events open a window onto the work of artists experiencing homelessness, revealing how art can help us all relate to others and seek our place in the world.

At Crisis dedicated arts tutors across the country deliver more than 100 creative classes each week. Workshops, events and exhibitions developed with local artists and arts organisations will showcase their work in nine locations from 15-31 July 2016.
