Lyn Paul returns to Blood Brothers at Liverpool Empire

Blood Brothers will return to its native Liverpool in September with Lyn Paul set to star.

Willy Russell’s iconic play is set to head back to its roots when it takes to the stage at the city’s Empire theatre for a two-week run from September 19, 2016.

New Seekers singer Lyn is no stranger to the show and will appear as Mrs Johnstone, a role she has played since 1997 and most recently during the final West End performances at the Phoenix Theatre in 2012.

She has also starred in the UK tour of Cabaret in 2013 as Fraulein Schneider, in Boy George’s musical Taboo and in Footloose – the Musical.

Hailed as one of the best musicals of all time, Blood Brothers has triumphed across the globe.

Scooping up no fewer than four awards for best musical in London and seven Tony Award nominations on Broadway, the epic tale of Liverpool life ran in the West End for 24 years.

It was one of only three musicals to exceed the milestone of 10,000 performances.

Blood Brothers is set to run at the Liverpool Empire from Monday, September 19 to Saturday, October 1.

Tickets cost from £12 (£13 online/phone) and can be booked through the Empire’s Box Office on 0844 871 3017 or by visiting atgtickets.com/Liverpool
