Liverpool Loves returns to the city this summer

Award-winning festival Liverpool Loves is returning to the city this summer.

The feel-good event will take place on August 5 and 6 with the main stage zone being held in Derby Square under the gaze of the Queen Victoria monument.

Showcasing the best that the city has to offer, it will provide a wide array of live entertainment, amazing food and drink; as well as activities and attractions for the whole family to enjoy.

Orb CIC are pulling out all the stops to ensure this year’s festival stands up to their strong track record in the city in organising Brazilica and Liverpool Pride.

Over 27,000 people attended the three days of events at Liverpool Loves’ inaugural back in 2015 with that number rising to 40,000 a year later.

The focus of this year’s celebration will again focus on its four core themes; business, culture, food and wellbeing.

Liverpool city centre will come alive with the sounds of some of the best buzz-bands and rising local artists on the Main Stage in Derby Square.

Surrounded by a vibrant offering of street food and bars, the space will deliver an atmosphere reminiscent of an open-air European piazza.

A varied line-up of have-a-go sessions as part of the Wellbeing programme, is set to offer lots of free activities and performances for all the family.

There will also be a programme of free entertainment from local and international community arts organisations on the Culturebox stage, promising a showcase of the breadth of our cultural connections in the region.

Liverpool Loves Business, which is the city’s largest independent SME conference, will return to the Hilton hotel on July 13, promising a wide programme of seminars, keynote speeches and business advice and support.

Festival director Josh Boyd said: “After the continued success of last year’s event – and picking up a nomination for Best Small Tourism Event once again – we’re excited to be bringing this much-loved celebration back for the third time in 2017.

“Visitors can expect to see all their favourite parts of previous years once again – we don’t want to change too many of the things that have made this event so unique and well-loved by visitors.

“This is just the first part of the event site that we’re announcing, so keep an eye out for more exciting details to come shortly.”
