Hit-maker Jason Donovan is set to take the lead when Million Dollar Quartet comes to the Liverpool Empire next month.
The singer turned theatre star will reprise the role of Sam Phillips, the record producer who made music history by bringing Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins together.
Donovan’s impressive musical theatre background has seen him take lead roles in shows such as The Rocky Horror Show, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Sweeney Todd.
More recently the one-time Neighbours star graced the Empire’s stage as part of the cast in Priscilla Queen of the Desert, which toured the UK last year.
Ashley Carruthers will play Jerry Lee Lewis; Robbie Durham appears as Johnny Cash, Ross William Wild as Elvis Presley and Matt Wycliffe reprises the role of Carl Perkins.
Million Dollar Quartet runs at the Empire from February 14 to 18. For tickets and more information, visit www.milliondollarquartetlive.co.uk
