Vivienne Westwood’s Liverpool Boutique is to relocate after 17 years in Cavern Walks.
The news comes are retail stores are allowed to reopen following the Covid-19 lockdown. Shoppers are expected to return to the High Streets as they reopen on June, 15.
A tweet from Vivienne Westwood Liverpool said “To our Liverpool Customers, Friends & Community”
“Since the opening of our Vivienne Westwood Liverpool boutique almost 17 years ago the retail landscape of the city has changed dramatically and as our lease at Cavern Walks comes to an end, we have taken the decision to seek a more suitable retail space in the city. ”
“We look forward to welcoming our local loyal customers to our Leeds and Manchester stores, whilst we find a new location in Liverpool.”
Cavern Walks was once a central shopping hub for high end boutiques including Cricket and Kids Cavern. It was a celebrity hotspot with local WAGS flocking there for designer goods. However in recent years the majority of boutiques have relocated.
In 2018, Signature Living purchased the iconic shopping centre and had plans to transform the building in to a hotel. In April and May this year a number of Signature Living subsidiary companies went into administration. It is not known if this was a deciding factor in Westwood’s decision to relocate.
