Police are investigating the death of a man at a charity shop in Aigburth.
Emergency services were called to the Remar UK Furniture store on Aigburth Road shortly before 1pm today following reports of a man being injured.
An investigation is currently ongoing after the man was pronounced dead at the scene while another man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Assistant Chief Constable Nikki Holland said: “Looking after our communities is a top priority for Merseyside Police.
“I understand that people living and working in Aigburth will be concerned about two very serious incidents happening in such a close proximity in such a short space of time.
“But I want to reassure people that these incidents are not linked and we are doing everything we can to investigate the full circumstances around what happened.
“In relation to the incident on Aigburth Road this afternoon, malady the man who died has yet to be formally identified and a post mortem will take place tomorrow to establish a cause of death.”
