A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Huyton.
Police detained the 21-year-old from the area on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm following the incident in Reeds Road.
Emergency services had originally been called to the road just before 2pm on Thursday following reports of a disturbance.
It was thought that a 57-year-old victim was shot before becoming involved in an argument with a group of about four males near to a Mitsubishi Shogun.
The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for a gunshot injury to his right leg, hospital which is not thought to be life threatening.
