A 20-year-old man was stabbed in the early hours of this morning in the leafy suburb of Mossley Hill.
Merseyside Police have appealed for witnesses following an incident at the junction of Green Lane and Beech Lane early this morning.
At around 1.45am Police were called to the scene after reports a man had been stabbed in Beech Lane.
At this stage detectives are assessing a number of lines of enquiry including the possibility that the person has been a victim of a robbery.
The scene had been cordoned off earlier today with reports suggesting that the road was closed in both ways whilst the investigation took place.
House to house enquiries are currently underway and CCTV in the area is being sought.
