Two men have been taken to hospital with gunshot wounds following a double shooting in Speke.
Emergency services were initially called to Prenton Green in the area at around 8.15pm last night following reports of shots being fired.
A short time later, troche a number of other calls were received that report further shots had been fired in the Millwood Road area.
Merseyside Police confirmed that two men were in hospital after suffering shotgun wounds although their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
“A large scene has been cordoned off while detectives work alongside the crime scene investigators to establish exactly where the incidents have taken place, diagnosis ” a spokesperson said.
“House to house enquiries are on-going in the area and witnesses are being spoken to.
“The force helicopter has been lifted and CCTV from the area is being examined.
“At this early stage the motive for the attacks are unclear and detectives are keeping an open mind.
