Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was stabbed in Allerton.
Officers were called to Mather Avenue at around 9.25pm last night following reports that a 17-year-old had suffered wounds consistent with a knife attack.
The boy has been taken to hospital with body wounds but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
A search of the surrounding area is ongoing and CCTV opportunities are being explored as detectives launch an an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
The specific location of the assault remains unclear but witnesses claim police patrol cars and ambulances were stationed outside the area’s Tesco superstore.
