Halewood flat locked down after catalogue of anti-social behaviour

A flat in Halewood has been boarded up after neighbours were subjected to 18 months of anti-social behaviour.

Late night parties with very loud music and fighting amongst guests caused long term problems for those living near the property in Poulton Close.

The premises became the latest in Liverpool to be hit with a police closure order after an arson attack on the property.

A temporary closure order was issued for 6 Poulton Close earlier following a large amount of complaints from locals.

That order was then approved at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday as police sought to end the ongoing anti-social behaviour.

Anti-social behaviour allegations linked to the property include all night parties, buy drunken fightsand criminal damage.

Merseyside Police stepped in earlier this week after fire severely damaged the flat in a suspected arson.

A police spokesman said: “A tenant was making the lives of many other residents a misery for around a year-and-a-half through various forms of anti-social behaviour, including holding all night parties, playing loud music, drunken fighting among people attending those parties and damage caused to the flat.

“Merseyside Police recognises the damage anti-social behaviour can have on people’s lives and we always look to work with the housing trusts to use all available legislation to deal with these problems.”
