£550,000 Bidston Observatory to be sold at auction

House hunters on Merseyside could land themselves the perfect property after Bidston Observatory was put up for auction.

The Wirral landmark is set to be auctioned off next month with a guide price of £550, 000.

Potential buyers would be required to turn this functional observatory in to a home and auctioneers have confirmed that there is “potential for residential planning permission” on the site.

Richard Reed MRICS, head of property at the online auction house, described the listing as an exciting and unique residential development opportunity.

He said: “Set in the Wirral Peninsula area, this is a highly desirable location and it is rare to have such a unique property come to auction with the potential to be transformed into a dream project.

“The observatory has a guide price of £550,000 with many original architectural features and of course superb views situated on top of Bidston Hill.

“Standing at 70m above sea level the site enjoys uninterrupted views incorporating Wales, the Irish Sea and across to the skyline of Liverpool. The observatory also has the privacy of being nearby to mature woodland.”
