Liverpool residents losing £145 by not changing providers

Liverpool residents are missing out on more than £145 in savings every year by not changing their insurance or energy provider, according to new research by shopping website with a heart, Give as you Live.

Liverpool residents are missing out on a weekend trip to Rome or 47 Starbucks coffees each year by not changing insurance or energy provider.

When asked about how often they change insurance or energy provider, more than a third (34%) of those in Liverpool said ‘once every few years’ – a potential loss of more than £600, and 23% admit that they have never changed providers.

Those not making the switch could be missing out on £145, equivalent to 47 Starbucks coffees or a long weekend in Rome.

Meanwhile, almost half (46%) of those in Liverpool say that their main motivator for changing insurance or energy provider was to get a cheaper rate.

Greg Hallett, Managing Director, Give as you Live commented, “It’s an all too common scenario that once we have our insurance or energy provider, we stick with them instead of going through the hassle of changing. But it’s important to know that it’s not as hard as you think, and if you use services like Give as you Switch you can save an average of £144.99 by switching, as well as donate up to £17 to charity in doing so. One supporter saved £1,921, so it’s definitely worth the change.”
