Liverpool John Lennon Airport has introduced dedicated parking bays for shared scooters and e-bikes.
The Speke terminal is partnering with scooter provider Bolt to give staff and passengers travelling light, a fast, sustainable way to get to and from the airport.
Bolt launched their e-scooter and e-bike service throughout the city earlier this year which helped bring shared mobility to south Liverpool for the first time.
To date, the company have 2,000 e-scooters and 150 e-bikes covering Liverpool including the main areas serving the airport itself in Speke and Garston.
Research by Bolt in the UK shows that four in ten e-bike users ride to train stations or other transport hubs, while more than a third use e-bikes for commuting to work.
Airport bosses see it as an important transport option, particularly for staff travelling to and from early-morning and late-night shifts, when public transport is unavailable.
The new parking bay provides a dedicated area close to the main employee site entrance, within the free drop-off/pick up public car park.
Passengers can also use the dedicated bays, giving those travelling light, a last-mile option between the airport and surrounding neighbourhoods.
