The taxi driver who fled from the Southport attack has had his licence revoked.
Gary Poland drove Axel Rudakubana to the Hart Space dance studio in July 2024 before he murdered three young girls at a Taylor Swift-themed dance workshop.
Alice da Silva Aguiar, Elsie Dot Stancombe and Bebe King were killed in the attack while eight other children and two adults were severely injured during the ordeal.
Rudakubana has disembarked from the private hire taxi taken from his home in Banks, west Lancashire and ignored requests to pay before beginning his attack.
Poland gave evidence at the public inquiry last September during which dashcam footage showed him driving away as screaming children fled from the building.
He waited 50 minutes before calling 999, which Sefton Council’s taxi licensing handbook states should be made if a child or young person is in immediate harm.
The local authority has now confirmed that Poland, who was a driver for One Call Taxis, is no longer permitted to operate within the borough following his actions.
A spokesman said: “This individual no longer holds a taxi driver licence following a review by the local authority.
“A decision was taken that this individual did not meet the appropriate standards set out in Sefton Council’s taxi licensing policy.”
