A teenager has been arrested after a Liverpool school was placed in lockdown.
Childwall Sports and Science Academy told parents that it took the decision on Thursday (May 14) as a ‘precaution’ to protect the safety of students and staff.
Merseyside Police attended the secondary school based on Queens Drive after a pupil was reportedly threatened by a teenager shortly before midday.
“There is not believed to be any wider threat to any other pupil or member of staff at the school,” a force spokesperson said at the time.
“Officers, including a dedicated Safer Schools Officer, are currently at the school to provide reassurance, and enquiries are being carried out into the incident.
“The decision to lockdown the site has been made by the school.”
A 16-year-old boy was later arrested by officers on suspicion of malicious communications and is set to be taken to a police station for questioning.
