A man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing at a Bootle pub.
Police were called to the North Park Tavern on Stanley Road at around 10.30pm on Monday (March 9) over reports that a fight had broken out in the doorway.
The victim, a 30-year-old man, was taken to hospital with stab wound stomach and chest. He is still in hospital, where his condition is currently described as stable.
Two men detained the suspect at the scene until officers arrived to arrest him.
Paul Diaz, a 25-year-old from the local area, has since been charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife blade in a public place.
He has been remanded into custody to appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court on Wednesday (March 11).
