A teenage boy has been arrested after being found with a large hunting knife.
Police made the discovery at around 10.45pm on Saturday (February 14) in Croxteth Park in responding to a reported moped theft in Stockbridge Village.
A 16-year-old boy from the local area was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and theft of a motor vehicle.
Officers found the bladed instrucment in his coach when conducting a search.
A 37-year old man was also arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. Both were taken to a police station in Merseyside and bailed.
Chief Inspector Ray Mavrakakis said: “This was an excellent result for our officers who swiftly found the suspected stolen bike and arrested two suspects in Croxteth Park.
“Our officers will continue to proactively act on any reports of stolen bikes in your area and we have a wealth of tactics to track and locate them.
“We urge anyone using or considering purchasing a bike to follow our steps on keeping your property safe.”
