A man shot by armed police has been charged with a double stabbing in Huyton.
Officers arrested the suspect after a man in his 20s and a woman in her 50s were stabbed in a house on Tobruk Road on May 14 last year with both taken to hospital.
The woman suffered injuries to her face, back and arms and the man received only minor injuries while the suspect was later sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
Merseyside Police notified the Independent Office for Police Conduct, who opened an independent investigation, as part of procedure after shooting the suspect.
Ryan Baker has now been charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
The 32-year-old from Tobruk Road will appear at South Sefton Magistrates Court via video link on April 2.
