The Peel Group have ended its majority ownership of Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
Independent infrastructure manager Ancala acquired an initial 47.1% share from the investment giant to take their overall shareholding in the Speke terminal to 94.2%.
It marks the end of Peel’s 28-year involvement in the airport, which has seen a host of upgrades including the construction of a new terminal under the group’s watch.
Ancala first partnered with LJLA in 2019 as part of a joint venture with Peel and Liverpool City Council, who retain a 5.8% stakeholding in the travel hub.
