Liverpool are considering a possible parade for Jurgen Klopp’s send-off.
Last weekend’s Carabao Cup triumph saw Klopp claim the eighth trophy of his reign, which is set to come to an end when he leaves Anfield at the end of this season.
But that victory has led to talks about the Reds potentially holding an open-top bus parade even if they do not win any of the three trophies they remain in contention for.
Winning the Carabao Cup alone does not typically see a city-wide celebration, which are more commonly associated with success in the Champions League or FA Cup.
However Anfield chiefs are understood to be weighing up breaking with that tradition in order to offer Klopp a fitting tribute of his eight-and-a-half years at the helm.
No decision is expected to be taken until towards the end of the current campaign, when Liverpool’s prospective quadruple quest will have been largely decided.
Klopp is also set to be consulted about any proposal for an event held largely in his honour if the club does not win the Premier League title, FA Cup or Europa League.
Around 500,000 turned out to celebrate the German’s side winning the Carabao Cup and FA Cup in 2021/22, another season when they were in the hunt for four trophies.
Three years earlier, around 750,000 fans lined the city’s streets to welcome Liverpool home from their triumphant 2019 Champions League victory against Tottenham.
