Traffic on one of Liverpool’s busiest roads was brought to a standstill by an unexploded wartime bomb.
Police close the M57 after workers uncovered the device on the southbound carriageway of the Knowsley Expressway at the junction with Speke Road on Friday, June 17.
Following the discovery, police and bomb disposal experts attended the scene, which was closed off for over three-and-a-half hours after the shell was safely removed.
