Liverpool Ready To Keep The Pace This Season

After what was a disappointing Premier League campaign last season, Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool look capable of being in the title conversation come the end of this campaign.

A side that has shown they will never give up until the final and whistle, and one that has some of its swagger back on the field, there’s plenty of excitement about what can be achieved at Anfield this season.

Reds Battling To The Last

As Liverpool find themselves challenging near the top of the table, the Reds have shown in games this season that they will continue pushing right until the final whistle. Liverpool, who are 11/2 with Premier League bets to win the title this season, scored in the 96th minute to rescue a point at Luton Town on Bonfire Night. The Hatters, who are 1/8 in the Premiership relegation odds, frustrated Klopp’s side for much of the evening but could not prevent Luis Díaz from scoring with one of the last actions of the game. Díaz did not have the cleanest connection with his late header but it didn’t matter as it looped over the keeper to earn an important point for the Reds.

The Díaz goal at Kenilworth Road was yet another example of Liverpool scoring late on in Premier League games this season. After the first 11 games of the league campaign, the Merseyside outfit have found the back of the net six times on or after 85 minutes in a match. With the amount of great chances they had against Luton, Klopp’s side should have had the three points wrapped up. However, while last season they might well have come away from Luton with a loss, Liverpool are finding ways to pick up points this term.

A Title Challenge On The Cards

Having finished in the Europa League places last season, Liverpool look ready to mount a title challenge this time around. Rivals Manchester City are looking to make history this season by trying to become the first team to win the top flight in four consecutive campaigns. The Cityzens have made a positive start to their title defence but a wide-open race for the English crown could well be on the cards. Tottenham Hotspur have made a bright start under new manager Ange Postecoglou, while after falling just short in the final months last season, Arsenal look like they can be thereabouts once again.

Liverpool’s resurgence has added another major element to a potentially exciting race for the Premier League title. Brimming with attacking talent that includes the likes of Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Díaz, Liverpool are capable of beating any side in the division. Making sure they avoid too many slip-ups like the one at Luton will be key but it looks like the Reds are ready to be in the mix for the title come springtime.

The 2022/23 season was one to forget for Liverpool but lessons appear to have been learnt from the experience and the Reds are ready to go again and challenge Pep Guardiola’s City for the English crown this time around.
