Everton Women have sacked Jean-Luc Vasseur after just 10 matches.
Vasseur replaced Willie Kirk in October and arrived with a glittering CV following a spell at Lyon Femenin in which he won the Champions League.
But the 52-year-old’s return with the Blues amounted to just one win in their previous six WSL games which left them third-bottom in the league table.
The Walton Hall Park outfit confirmed late on Tuesday evening that it had since parted company with Vasseur in addition to his backroom staff.
“Everton can confirm that Jean-Luc Vasseur has left his role as manager of the club’s women’s team,” read a club statement.
“Assistant coaches Frédéric Piquionne and Franck Plaine have also left the club.
“Everyone at Everton would like to thank Jean-Luc, Frederic and Franck for their service and wish them well for the future.
“Chris Roberts and Claire Ditchburn will take charge of the team on an interim basis.”
It means that Everton will be looking for a third women’s team manager this season after Kirk departed the club due to a stuttering start to the campaign.
