Chris Wilder has taken aim at Jurgen Klopp over fans returning to matches.
The Sheffield United manager made the stinging criticism of his Liverpool counterpart as new lockdown measures allow supporters into stadiums again.
Anfield is set to welcome back 2,000 supporters for next Sunday’s visit of Wolves, the first time crowds have been present for games since March.
But the UK’s revised tier system means that exactly half of the 20 Premier League clubs are permitted to have their own fans attending home fixtures.
Wilder has cried foul over the inequality around the measures, with the Blades still playing their games behind closed doors as a Tier 3 city.
And the 53-year-old singled out Klopp as part of his frustrations with the new measures.
“He’s a world-class manager and a world-class politician, who cares about Liverpool. That’s all he cares about,” said Wilder.
“He was never going to say what about Sheffield United getting their fans back in or Newcastle or Man City or Man United or anybody else.
“He’s a world-class politician.
“I know his background on support and how much Anfield has been a fortress.
“The Liverpool support is magnificent, I know it is because my old man is from that part of the world. I know he’s been vocal on that.
“Jurgen isn’t going to say it’s not right that they can have fans in as they’re in Tier 2 and Sheffield United, Leeds, Manchester and all the rest of the north are not allowed in.
“It was funny looking at that map, wasn’t it? Shock! I think us in the north were fully expecting us to be in the old Tier 3 as they kindly put us in.”
