A murder investigation has been launched into the death of a man found at a fishing lake on the Wirral.
Officers were called to a farm on Clatterbridge Old Road, ailment Spital just after 9am yesterday morning following reports of two men fighting at a fishing lake.
Emergency services discovered the body of a 37-year-old man from Birkenhead at the farm, link with the victim then taken by air ambulance to hospital. He was pronounced dead a short while later.
A 28 year-old man from Bebington has been arrested on suspicion of murder after police had spoken to a number of witnesses at the scene at the time of the incident.
The area around the lake has been cordoned off whilst investigators carry out forensic examinations, with a post-mortem into the cause of death expected to be carried out later today.
