Hundreds of people took to the streets of Liverpool on Saturday to march for Black Lives Matter.
The march came almost two weeks after a peaceful protest on the steps of St George’s Hall against the death of George Floyd whilst in police custody in America.
The March took place on Saturday afternoon and started on Upper Parliament Street and concluded at St George’s Hall.
Protestors wore face masks and coverings whilst also keeping to social distancing regulations in place to stop the spread of Coronavirus. Stewards and organisers handed out face masks and water to those at the march.
Kerry Nugent who organised the march said ” “This is just the beginning of a wider campaign to challenge the evils of racism.”
Liverpool have joined cities across the world to stage peaceful protests in the weeks since the unlawful death of George Floyd.
