Klopp reveals ‘perfect’ Liverpool moment

Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool created a ‘perfect moment’ against Manchester City.

The Reds ran out 3-1 winners over Pep Guardiola’s side in a game which saw the reigning champions lose further ground in the Premier League title race.

Mohamed Salah doubled the hosts’ lead in the showdown when he converted an Andy Robertson cross after the ball bounced away from Fernandinho.

And while Klopp admitted that he cannot pinpoint a specific game as flawless, Liverpool’s method for their second goal in the clash is the closest instance.

He said: “The perfect moment in a game was at 2-0 against Manchester City.

“It’s a diagonal ball from Trent Alexander-Arnold to Andy Robertson and, after two touches, he fires the ball to the right side and there’s Mo Salah with his header after the ball drops on the ground, which is not easy to judge.

“That’s a perfect moment in a football game but you don’t have them all the time.

“Our life is not only searching for perfection. It’s much more dealing with failure. That’s what a football game is about because it’s pretty rare that you play perfect moments.

“You have constantly to deal with not-perfect moments and that’s much more important. I’ve no clue how our perfect game would look.

“I saw some glimpses of it but that’s it. We are in a good moment [and] that’s because we have the points tally we have.

“But we need to improve and get better in moments. We need to deal with difficult situations, all that stuff.

“And if we can do that it would be perfect – but not with a perfect game.”
