A teenager has died after falling from a bridge near the Wallasey Tunnel.
Police were called to Oakdale Road at 7.04am on Monday to reports that a 19-year-old man from the area had fallen off a bridge close to the tunnel’s entrance.
He was taken to hospital where he was sadly confirmed as deceased. His family have been informed and an investigation is underway.
Investigations are taking place and CCTV is being looked at and we are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Traffic from Liverpool towards Wallasey was temporarily halted before the tunnel was reopened but restricted to one lane heading in the opposite direction.
Anyone in the vicinity before or at the time of the incident is urged to talk with police, who are also looking for anyone with dashcam footage.
