A 14 year-old schoolboy from the Wirral accused of raping two young children is set to have his case heard by Liverpool Crown Court.
The boy, who cannot be legally named due to his age, is alleged to have sexually assaulted a young boy and girl in the Wirral, between October 2014 and December 2015.
The boy appeared at Liverpool Youth Court this morning, and pleaded not guilty to all charges, including two counts of raping the girl, one count of sexually assaulting her and two counts of raping the boy.
Following a request from the prosecution to move the case to the Crown Court, due to the severity of the crime and the Youth Court’s limited sentencing powers, the case was transferred.
District Judge Richard Clancy confirmed that the boy would appear at Liverpool Crown Court later this month, and granted the teenager bail on the condition that he would not contact either child.
