Marco Silva has admitted that Everton need to arrest a ‘bad run’ of form.
Boxing Day’s trip to Burnley comes on the back of a 6-2 humbling by Tottenham that continued a six-game Premier League stretch in which they won just once.
The Blues previously enjoyed a strong start to the season which appeared to vindicate Silva’s appointment as Sam Allardyce’s successor during the summer.
But the Everton manager is calling on his players to respond to the Spurs setback with a strong account in the trip to Turf Moor on Wednesday afternoon.
“Of course it’s not what we want. It’s a bad run,” admitted Silva.
“We had the good run before in seven games, we lost against Man United and we achieved very good points for us. But now it’s a bad run.
“It’s clear we have to face it with quality and personality. It will be a really tough match to play against Burnley.
“We have to be really strong as a team to achieve good results.”
