Marcel Brands is set to join Everton as part of a planned summer overhaul.
Brands has confirmed that he will be moving to Goodison Park after heading up PSV Eindhoven’s football operations for the past eight years.
The 56-year-old remains widely credited with identifying the likes of Mousa Dembele, Dries Mertens and Kevin Strootman in his recruitment strategy.
His decision to leave the newly-crowned Eredivisie champions is expected to bring about a summer of seismic changes within the Blues’ technical setup.
“Saying goodbye to the people at this club will be the hardest thing for me,” said Brands.
“But it is correct. The first contact with Everton goes back to 2016.
“I have said no to beautiful clubs in Germany and I am with the best club in the Netherlands.”
Everton’s current director of football Steve Walsh’s position is expected to face scrutiny following a largely unsuccessful transfer policy since 2016.
Sam Allardyce’s long-term future in the Goodison hot seat also remains far from certain amid speculation he will be replaced at the end of this season.
Shakhtar Donetsk’s Paulo Fonseca has emerged as the forerunner while ex-Watford manager Marco Silva is understood to also be in contention.
