A man accused of murdering Liverpool teenager Lewis Dunne mouthed “It wasn’t me” when he appeared in court for the first time today.
The 16-year-old was shot dead in the Eldonian Village estate close to to the Leeds Liverpool Canal in November last year.
Merseyside Police yesterday confirmed that they had re-arrested and charged Jake Culshaw with the school boy’s murder.
The defendant mouthed the words “it wasn’t me” and spoke with a shaky voice as he confirmed his personal details in court.
Judge Goldstone said it would be tried before a High Court judge, likely to be Mr Justice Turner, and a jury.
The Recorder of Liverpool said a plea and trial preparation hearing would take place on July 30.
James Smith, defending, made no application for bail and Judge Goldstone remanded Culshaw in custody.
