A 25 year-old man from Birkenhead has been charged with the murder of 16 year old Lewis Dunne.
16 year old Lewis Dunne was gunned down on a towpath near Burrows Court in the Vauxhall area of Liverpool, close to Sandhills.
The teenager was shot in the back after leaving his house to go to a local shop.
A shotgun had previously been recovered from the canal near where the shooting took place in January.
Merseyside Police re-arrested Jake Culshaw from Birkenhead and after consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service charged him with the teenagers murder.
Culshaw will appear at Liverpool and Knowsley Magistrates Court tomorrow charged with murder.
